Angel Whispers – Analysis Paralysis

Have you been experiencing some challenges with making decisions lately? Even the most insignificant choices can amplify the decision rhetoric. A chaotic energy begins to occupy my mind space. I take a moment to breathe in the reality of a world full of uncertainty. Add a dash of sensitivity with a pinch of perfectionism. Now I have all the necessary ingredients for analysis paralysis! Hey, that would be a good title for a song (tee hee).

Analysis paralysis describes the process of overanalyzing or overthinking a situation. Such a process can cause forward motion or decision-making to become paralyzed. The effect is that no solution or course of action becomes a choice within a natural time frame. Another result would be a constant state of anxiety.

Examples of a paralyzed will include being slow at making insignificant choices. A common complaint around a simple choice would include deciding what you want to eat for dinner. Let’s say you are drafting an important email to your boss and it takes all day to get one ready to send. Are you taking six months to plan your next weekend adventure? These could be signs you too may suffer from the AP syndrome. Should I ask for a whisper from spirit on the subject? I can’t decide, so let’s see what we get:

Analysis Paralysis can move beyond the area of the mind, descending into the body. Emotions get turned off, and the result is the inability to feel your way through the process. Without feeling into the decision, anxiety increases the tendency to overthink. What follows is a decrease in the chances for any forward movement due to an overactive mind. Anxiety pushing through the energy channels leads to questioning the path.

Awareness of analysis paralysis occurring is the first step toward a breakthrough. Let action follow your awareness with some added discipline. Step back and slow things down, which will interrupt anxious energy circuits. Focus on priorities and use some discernment. Is this decision worth my time and energy? Am I falling into the perfectionism trap? How do I feel about the situation?

One of the antidotes to analysis paralysis is to be bold. Practice making snap decisions on the small things to increase the pace of the big ones. Create your own strategies to overcome the endless loops of the mind. Make it fun to be less than perfect. Use your gut intuition and learn greater trust of that part of yourself. Impulses are usually gut reactions. They are usually the most accurate barometer of your true instinct and feelings.

Practice assertiveness to become more comfortable with that side of you. Do the opposite of everything your anxious mind is telling you. Then enjoy this new variation of self. The higher vibration will transcend the average experience and attract more positive outcomes. Learn to move at the pace that fits the best version of your decision-making self. Love will always follow the energy that leads with the heart.

Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell

“Our greatest block is that we tend to over think things too much. We over analyze and what happens is that we get into analysis paralysis. Our creativity and ‘flow’ freezes up and all spontaneity and creativity just exits out of the thought process.”
