Angel Whispers – Common Sense

Common sense was once a reference to the five senses of the human body. It has changed over time to fit today’s meaning. Sound judgment in practical matters is the current definition of this term. A person with good common senses is rational, reasonable, practical, and down to earth. In our current culture of ideology, people are told what to think and what to believe. This can lead to ill-informed decisions. Common sense has become a fallacy! (tee hee)

Some measure of common sense should come from personal experience, and if it’s common, most people could agree. Our world of today has so much information spread to the masses from questionable sources, we have a society built on ‘faith-based sense’. So does anyone have common sense, or do we have to accept ‘reasoned sense’? The elements of common sense should include certain key elements, such as a review of information, methodologies that lead to a correct conclusion, critical thinking, and the application of scientific theories and principles. Having an informal process that leads to precise thinking would eliminate blundering idiots who use ideology to create division in our country and our world.

I have a sense that people with common sense built America. It often seems there is little rationale used by large groups of people when calling for unification. I am often mystified by those who choose irrational behavior that seems to lack all common sense. I wonder if asking for a whisper on common senses is a rational behavior. (tee hee) Well, let’s take a risk and see what comes through on this subject:

Common sense must begin with an open mind. If a person holds a belief unsupported by factual information, they may resist the inquiry needed to reach a reasonable conclusion. An open mind is free to use all the senses given to humans, including those beyond the body. If an individual is grounded, their intuitive senses can help with critical thinking and non-reactive communication. To the grounded individual, a knowing of an absolute truth comes from deep within.

An open heart is needed to arrive at a grounded position. Without a receptive heart, ideas, inspirations, and open inquiry are not always welcome. Humans are great at making up stories that justify their behaviors and beliefs. The incorrect thinking supported by a story made up in the mind can be a rejection of science, logic, and reason. If a person cannot trust the truth, they cannot receive the information needed to arrive on common ground with others.

Holding a belief separated from facts perpetuates the need to justify. When something goes against a belief that has penetrated the dimension of the soul, a person may subconsciously resist creating a change of attitude would threaten their identity. Fear will create anxiety around any change in position. Life is one giant experiment, with the opportunity to create many personal experiences that inform the senses. One must allow those experiences to evolve as an inquiry of the truth.

Communication is never one-sided. Common sense is born from innocence, nurtured by spirit, and grown with maturity. Awaken to the possibilities and turn on the light that illuminates greater self-awareness. Common sense will vibrate within the soul of an individual with an open heart, mind, and spirit.

Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
