Angel Whispers – Spontaneous Visual Imagery

Spontaneous visual imagery occurs during meditation and provides a common theme in my experience of working with clients. Seeing unfamiliar faces in rapid succession has been described countless times in the debriefing stage after a crystal light table or energy session. Jordan’s description sparked my curiosity this week. Thanks, Jordan!

Experienced meditators report spontaneous imagery during states of deep meditation. We usually interpret these visual experiences as encounters with light, giving rise to mystical interpretations. Researchers have discovered imagery is sharp, clear, and focused when achieving gamma brain waves (30-70 Hz) during meditations. Alpha brain waves (10 Hz) produced more rapid changes with the visual content, making it challenging to remember exactly what we saw in the meditation.

Difficult to understand, spontaneous visual imagery seems to hold important information. Is seeing the faces of our ancestors, saints, guides, or historical figures in rapid succession drawn from a direct experience? Even a picture of Jesus or Buddha is not necessarily an accurate depiction. Would we know a spiritual guide with an unfamiliar face? Too many questions mean it’s time for a whisper on spontaneous visual imagery.

The visionary is a creative artist spontaneously forming imagery, transcending the current constraints of space, time, and causality. Creative ideas involve stimulation used to conjure an image. Imagination is more spontaneous and unpredictable, as it uses both creative and non-creative thoughts. One result is the random generation of visuals using an existing library of knowledge and information.

Using meditation creates encounters with light and raises vibrations from personal growth. Development occurs with Alpha brain waves. When the spirit is unbridled from the analytical mind, seeing rapid, unfamiliar faces becomes a magical experience. It’s important to remain a neutral observer during mystical experiences, as to not read the wrong meaning.

During a moment of spontaneous visual imagery, raising vibrations can attract your ancestors, tribes from long ago, saints, angels, or spirit guides. The encounter means you are receiving support on your journey and an answer to your inquiry. If the images are dark or even frightening, you are having a shadow experience and an energy release. Take it as a positive sign that spiritual awakening, internal cleansing, and transformational integration are at work.

Spontaneous visual imagery comes from silencing the mind. Prayer is speaking while meditation is listening. To hear the whispers of the heart, turn off the mind and allow your imagination to roam free. Allowing is expansion of energy, and worry is contraction based in fear. Have the courage to explore the innermost landscape for greater illumination on the meaning of life.

Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
