Languages can capture the heart, action, and even the sound of the word. The word for “spirit” has a Greek etymological root, psycho, which means “I breathe.” The word for “spirit” in Hebrew is ruách, meaning a “wind” or “breath”. In these words you can feel the sound with the meaning. When you say psycho, you can’t help but breathe a little more with the expression (despite the negative connotation). As you say ruách, you inhale “the wind”. Just try to say that word at the end of an exhale. I couldn’t (LOL). In French, the spirit is élan vital, the “vital force” by which God animates the world.
Issues related to our spirit are mostly illusive. This is probably due to the fact that they are subjective not only to our thoughts, but to our emotions. Matters of the spirit are not understood by science or modern psychology despite the psycho origins.(tee hee) There is a great deal of mystery around the spirit in energy medicine, too. So what is a tangible way to connect with our spirit?
The environment influences the animation of spirit. Go outside and feel your inner self in a strong wind on a sunny day. Try the same thing on a calm, peaceful, moon-filled night. The same subtle internal nuances can be felt while in a loud, crowded bar when compared to being in a church or temple. What we are experiencing with our inner self or our inner soul life relates to the activation of emotions, thoughts, and senses. The spirit empowers the soul when animated by the energies of passion, commitment, devotion, love, and vision. These driving energies, connected to alignment with personal core vibrations, are the foundation of life itself. Animation of spirit pertains to individual connection to divinity. The vital principle of animation is anything that gives life. Experiences, whether perceived as positive or negative, animate the spirit. Individual focus on working in the light or the dark can create a false internal narrative. Existing in a magnetic domain will ensure that both the light and the dark, the positive and the negative, will always coexist.
Your Spirit’s ability to handle the energy will measure the value of life in the physical world. Balance will be found in the grounded center of both the light and dark. Neither can be excluded or exclusive. When you witness displaced soul life, the imbalance can most often be found in the lost harmony between the positive and the negative. Too much focus on living in the light can lead to spiritual bypassing of the truth. Too much focus on activities of the darkness can lead to illusions and even interruption of life.
Balance is found when equalizing forces lead to homeostasis. Harmonizing polar opposites is the defining factor to realizing internal peace, where release from attachments defines individual awakening and enlightenment. Many fear subjects perceived as negative or dark, so they seek protection from the unseen. In reality they are seeking stability. The balanced, stable spirit contains a sovereignty that no force can disrupt. Experience life in all forms and follow the whispers of an open heart that holds no fear, and you will animate spirit and give breath to life while you follow the path to enlightenment. Leaving the physical world with a balanced spirit will lead you on a natural migration in your soul journey back to the light of Divine Providence.
