Thanks for the whisper suggestion, Cheryl! Now that the election is over, where will we go from here? Facebook became the manifestation of social division, with record numbers hitting the ‘unfriend’ button. I tried to keep all my friends regardless of their opinions, but I publicly admit to the occasional ‘hide’ in order to control my response to hateful lies and rhetoric.
Dialogue is a noun that means an exchange of ideas or opinions on a particular issue, especially a political or religious issue, with a view to reaching an amicable agreement or settlement. Dialogue is a verb that means to discuss areas of disagreement frankly in order to resolve them. Did any disagreement get resolved on Facebook? That’s a rhetorical question (tee hee). Value means relative worth, merit, or importance, all according to definitions found at dictionary.com.
I have noticed occasional glimpses of dialogue that seemed sincere, honest, and respectful. I’m not sure if that changed any minds, but it was refreshing. I do think, however, that we need constructive dialogue and renewed conversations that hold a vision of hope. If nothing else, we need valuable dialogue for the sake of our children. I know that peace usually follows the loving communication and support that comes from spirit on any subject such as this:
Changing the patterns of war, judgment, persecution, and division on the planet, experienced by generations, will not shift as if by magic. History has a tendency to repeat. Anxiety can build within an entire species, as humans are asked to make a conscious choice regarding their future. Will you choose love? Will you choose love in the face of darkness? Will you communicate in a way that creates value in dialogue? Are you open to things you don’t want to hear?
Hatred and lower emotions hold a vibration that can easily bring opposition, and within any opposing force there is an opportunity to find something valuable. Value can be felt in pushing away from any obstacle, even those that hold darkness. Anything that offers a choice can create movement toward the light. The value of dialogue is experienced when there are shared ideas that open the mind to possibilities, when there is mutual respect that is offered, and when opinions are honored by agreement, especially in the face of disagreement.
Any conversation or communication that leads to peaceful resolution or stimulates strategies that offer solutions is a valuable asset. This is especially true given the state of the world today and the consequences of human endeavors. Fear is the greatest obstacle that humans face today. When emotional terrorism exists, communication is held back, often creating division and lower emotions held at the soul level. The result of fear is people believing what they want to believe, with disregard for factual information. This leads to the inability to align with the current reality, to withdrawal, denial, isolation, and absence of truth.
Where there is enough respect for the opinion of others, there is safety. Where there is safety, you will find the most value in dialogue. The freedom to express creative thoughts gives value to positive change, and peace through holding a vision of hope for future generations. Communication that merits love holds value beyond anything which can be perceived or imagined.
Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
