Have you ever done a whisper on overthinking and where the negative thoughts come from? My guides just said it originated from our childhood and the critical upbringing we had……. But I was wondering what your so eloquent guides may have to say about that. Thanks for the suggestion Gary! Overthinking involves repetitive thoughts around a topic or situation for an extended period.
Research suggests, like Gary, there might be an underlying issue that contributes to the overactive mind. Past traumas, depression, anxiety, and fear top the list. Some argue that overthinking is a helpful process of looking at an issue from every angle. Everyone can get caught up overthinking. But if you spend countless hours trying to decide what to wear to a job interview, the wasted time could cost you plenty.
The end to overthinking comes when you take action. All the debilitating thoughts can add up to a mountain of resistance (tee hee). Overthinking refers to a process that includes non-productive thinking. Emotions are probably responsible for the circular thoughts that prevents taking action. Then there is the relationship with yourself, where wellness is dependent on self-esteem. Before I overthink this whisper, lets find the mental stillness needed for a whisper:
The ability to create and develop as a species is dependent on strategic thinking in the face of complex problems. Humans have survived due to their unique mental capabilities. But thoughts can enter a zone between wishes, regrets, and reality. In this gap, thought-form energy is without containment. Overthinking leads to energy leaking through emotional channels. Such leaks influence self-sabotaging behavior.
Awareness occurs when it becomes clear your thoughts are not getting anywhere. Recurring thoughts become loops without resolution. One can get stuck in analysis paralysis. Overthinking can move you past the solution, where your thoughts obscure intuition. A negative consequence of overthinking can result in a lack of confidence. Insecurity prevails with decisions made with closed loops.
Overthinking about the future leads to worry. Negative thoughts related to the past, can be related to grief and trauma. Anxiety is the product of an overactive mind, which can affect overall health. Without the ability to quiet the mind prior to rest cycles, sleep can be disrupted. Circular thinking can be self-protection mechanism formed in childhood. It is associated with issues of control, which is a pattern found in most abuse survivors. The attempt to optimize every decision can be an unconscious process.
Connection to spirit and guidance is replaced by ego with an overactive mind. When realizing this state of being, you are getting the message to step back and become an observer. Such awareness is grounding, because it immediately shifts the pattern. Stepping back to gain a higher perspective is one form of mindfulness that leads to hearing the whispers from spirit.
Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
