I have often contended that our spirit and soul are not the same, which has led to arguments. I’m not saying they are without unification; it has been my sense that my spirit belongs to this lifetime, while the soul is eternal. My sense is that once this life is complete, the spirit of Russell will no longer exist. Call it a partial system of the entire soul and Russell’s wacky theory. (tee hee)
St. Paul writes in Thessalonians that the spirit and soul are fundamentally the same. They work together to animate life in a physical body. Plants, animals, and other living creatures also have a soul, but the human soul is unique. Our human spirit contains the power to reason. It is a feature that separates us from other living beings. The Vatican reminds us that the soul is distinguished from the spirit, when they issued this statement: When contrasted to the soul, the spirit transcends bodily limitations. The spirit opens the soul toward a life of grace. Spirit signifies man is ordered to a supernatural end, raising the soul to communion with God.
Some believe the spirit forms character, thoughts, and attitudes. The spirit is the seat of emotions and personality. In modern psychology, one’s identity, values, and beliefs are a unique creation of a persons’ spirit. Ghosts are often referred to as spirits. They seem to hold remnants of the personality. Is this a part of the mystery we are not meant to understand? The question is a call for answers found in the mystery of a whisper:
The spirit is the driving force that moves a person toward finding purpose in life. It is like food for the soul. Your spirit feeds the overall energy with levels of enthusiasm connected to courage and determination. Within the energy of the soul is a natural peace through a connection to divine providence. The spirit can hold a level of energy that is not easily contained.
Despite sharing the same space, the spirit and soul can lack harmonious flow. This is due to alignment. When misalignment occurs, the energy within experiences a lack of synchronicity. Levels can reach a chaotic state. Humans act impulsively under the influence of desires. Bonded to trauma and karmic energy, one might lack the will to find alignment with core values.
The spirit concerns itself with life in the outer world, while the soul is focused on the inner world. Inner life, consciousness, and the higher self are the soul’s interface with material life. The spirit knows a presence as the source of all light and love. Breath is a bridge to the spiritual realm, which facilitates renewal, rebirth, and awakening energy. The spirit embodies awareness.
A divine spark ignites the spirit into a physical body to begin the journey on Earth. Complete unification through alignment with the soul is what forms ascension. There’s no separation in the form that is of human understanding, yet there is a feeling of the connection between the spirit and soul that lives inside each person. The energy that binds the spirit and soul is love. Light is the illumination of spiritual unity.
Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
