Some refer to the subconscious mind as the unconscious mind. Others believe it represents the shadow side of mental processes. It’s fascinating to think about how this part of us can take charge under the influence of the past. The subconscious mind is not a physical part of the brain. It is a conceptual way to understand cognitive processes occurring outside our awareness. You know those negative thoughts that don’t seem like they belong to you? Those are coming from your subconscious mind.
Believed to be inaccessible, the subconscious side can show itself in unexpected ways. One way might be a slip of the tongue, a sudden expression of a bias or attitude, or an unhealthy pattern of behavior. An example would be calling your new love the name of your hated ex. Unresolved emotions can be bubbling to the surface as a sudden intrusion to your kumbaya! (tee hee)
Trauma, abuse, and tragedy can evoke a self-protection mechanism. Memories are repressed to help you get through a harsh experience. The subconscious mind can expose those memories for reasons we don’t understand. A situation evokes the moment we let down our guard. It’s a type of awakening that allows the conscious mind to become aware. Let’s awaken to a whisper from spirit on the subconscious mind:
The subconscious mind uses experiences of the past to form the conceptual reality. Only one concept can dominate what is accepted as truth at any given time. A concept is formed by thoughts, patterns, and behavior. Multiple concepts can be held in the subconscious mind, yet only one will be binding. When the subconscious mind accepts a concept as true, it will guide and dominate actions.
To release the dominant concept, an opposing concept must have greater strength. Because the subconscious mind does not forget, the influence of a new concept must be powerful. Positive concepts can disrupt a pattern to overpower those negative programs. A person can hold great resistance to positive change. The subconscious mind uses free will to control the information. Control is the illusion created by abuse.
Conscious awareness used to build positive strength of spirit is often misunderstood. Spiritual concepts used to bypass negativity are one way old programming remains undisturbed. A light that would otherwise dominate a negative concept fails to reach the shadows. The bond to trauma remains intact.
A reservoir of unresolved feelings, thoughts, memories, and urges forms a complex system. When harsh experiences create a binding effect, the subconscious mind can remain in conflict. The influence willfully opposes healing energy. Self-love, love for life, divine love, and love for others are what break that bond. Love is the dominant force that lowers all resistance to living a peaceful life. Inner happiness can occupy the subconscious mind when given the opportunity to express from the heart.
Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!

“All of us have our own inner fears, beliefs, opinions. These inner assumptions rule and govern our lives. A suggestion has no power in and of itself. its power arises from the fact that you accept it mentally.”
