Defining disordered affection begins with the word affection. Affection refers to emotions or feelings. As they relate to the big picture, emotions express the greater good. The energy behind all my expressions comes from the core, or the seat of my soul.
Each spirit has an intended path. Expressing emotions can deviate from alignment with destiny. An example would be strong feelings about something that shouldn’t matter. The opposite is a less emotional expression for something that deserves more passion. Who can judge such feelings and emotions as disordered (tee hee)? The act of setting something apart for a particular spiritual purpose is sanctification. In other words, our soul mission is an ongoing progression of working with alignment. It is something that requires grace for a natural reorder of the soul to take place.
Disorder means something or someone in a state of confusion or disruption. Life experiences can disrupt normal functioning of the body, mind, and spirit. So it seems to me that the key is awareness around how we function. To spot disordered affection, we need to look for dysfunction.
In my mind, it all leads back to faith or belief in something greater than self. Fear and anger are great motivators, but can desire alone bring our lives to greater order? Do sin and repentance play a role, even for those who would never use that language? The questions are mounting, so it must be time for a whisper on disordered affection:
What leads to a natural order in life is the key to good health and spiritual wellness. Where there is order, you will find love in your heart. Living a well-ordered life requires an inspired vision of reality balanced with possibilities. When your heart is in the wrong place, you’re likely to displace emotions and feelings. Displaced soul life is neurosis. Emotions out of alignment point toward separation from love.
Answers to such questions can be discovered within the truth of your current reality. How do you perceive life and take responsibility for conditions that determine reactions? What are the factors that influence development of priorities? Knowing your interests, your passions, and your heart is essential to core alignment. Reaching higher levels of love for life depends on awareness of self.
Each person must measure their capacity to feel at deep levels. One must have care and compassion to cultivate the garden of the heart. Nothing will blossom without the fertile ground that nurtures love. Love provides the grace needed to change disordered affections. The contrast between life and death provides the leverage for spiritual development.
Whatever takes focus away from living an orderly life influences disordered affection. Being the best version of yourself starts with core vibrations and alignment. The path of light will take you through the darkness that surrounds inner conflict. Disordered affections are on that path. But the antidote is the peace that comes with love for life, love for self, and love for others. Where peace is the feeling, love is realization.
Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
“Persons who have a painful affection in any part of the body, and are in a great measure sensible of the pain, are disordered in intellect.”
