Beckie and I nearly stepped on a scorpion with its stinger up on our bathroom floor last night. Since we were both barefoot, we had to take a moment to calm the shakes and shivers within (LOL). Scorpions are common to the Texas Hill Country, so it wasn’t a total shock to come across one, with the spring temperatures returning to the area.
The scorpion delivers a powerful message around protection and the armor you don. When coming across a scorpion, you are being asked to remove yourself from harsh environments and toxic people. Their message also includes the signal it’s time to declutter and shift the energy of your home. Give away things you no longer need, and minimize material objects to maximize energy flow. The declutter message can cover a wide range of areas such as relationships, career, family, health, and more.
Did you know the scorpion can survive a year without food or water? This little creature is a master at utilization of resources and conserving energy. They are solitary creatures and hardly ever travel with another scorpion. The scorpion message is about being sure to take care of yourself first, to be available to the needs of others in the future. All these messages are timely in our new normal. Let’s get another message from spirit on a topic close to our hearts:
The animal kingdom is a source of pure messaging. Communication is mostly silent, which requires listening from a space of wisdom found only in the heart. The scorpion will first strike fear upon arrival, which is an effective defense mechanism. Notice that the scorpion does not hurry about, as its movements are measured and deliberate. They have the patience to wait until the timing is right before making a move. Scorpions like open spaces where the energy moves more freely, which gives more range to their senses.
A scorpion has incredible courage and will not back down in the face of a threat. They will attack the largest adversary without hesitation. This is their true nature. It’s never entirely about food, for the scorpion defends its space. Laying claim to their right to exist in your environment is in their most primal energetic DNA. The scorpion’s design holds a spirit that all can learn from, for they do not deviate from their nature. A scorpion always remains true to self.
Most humans have the compassion to care for others, to the point they will sometimes refuse to listen to their internal wisdom. Learning discernment is one of the highest levels of spiritual activation achievement when graduating the school of Earth. Arrogance can block spiritual growth due to the influence of a refusal to hear the whispers of the heart. Especially now, it is critical to listen for the internal guidance system to communicate from the hidden realms.
Following a feeling or sense that seems counter to logic is always worth careful examination. Is there fear involved with what your heart is asking you to do? Is the ego nudging you in a direction without discernment? Is your instinct telling you something the mind cannot support with logic or rationale? Everyone has vital resources they cannot see, feel, touch, or understand. Now is the time to use those resources known as intuition and instinct. Listen to the whispers of your heart as you would a trusted friend or guide.

What I’m attempting to do is to show people that if I can spend some time with very dangerous spiders and snakes and scorpions, then maybe they’ll feel different about the spiders and snakes they find around their areas. I don’t need people to keep them as pets. I just like them to be respectful and see that everything in nature has its place. Dominic Monoghan.
