Many people are disheartened by the current state of affairs in the world. It seems we are witnessing an increase in people emboldened by hatred, enough to express their prejudice with bad behavior. Our challenge is to remain balanced in the face of such prejudice, judgment, and the proliferation of violence. I was reminded of the story of two wolves as I pondered the question of living with such darkness in the world.
Once upon a time, there was a Native American grandfather who told his grandson, “Grandson, there are two wolves inside of me. One wolf has kind soft eyes, good and altruistic, generous and benevolent, and always remains in front to guide me down the path of light. I trust this wolf. The other wolf is filled with regret, mean and greedy, violent, angry, and constantly circling to hide behind my back. I cannot trust that wolf.”
“What are the wolves doing, Grandfather?” the young boy asked.
“The two wolves are constantly fighting.”
The wide-eyed grandson thought for a minute before asking, “Which one will win, Grandpa?”
The grandfather replied, “The one I feed.”
Let’s get a whisper from spirit on feeding the two wolves within:
The human spirit faces great demands from overwhelming acts of violence instantly reported and expressed throughout the world. Each person has the capacity to find love in their heart and to rise above the lower energies. One consciously chooses to take responsibility for the energy they are projecting into the world, starting with a single intention from the heart. Expressing hatred for other humans represents the failure of the spirit to handle the emotions within, which is feeding the wolf of darkness and despair.
Spiritual and Universal laws are applied to all human endeavors. Spiritual motion remains constant with speed and direction unless influenced by an unbalanced force. Actions directed for or against the darkness will always create movement of lower reactive energies. In other words, one cannot do battle against the force of darkness without a consequence. The best path is to intend balance of the light and dark energy from within.
Feeding the negativity will expand dark matter in and around human energy fields. Feeding the positivity introduces light or the energy of love. The strength of spirit that leads to cultivation of virtues and alignment with core values comes from life-force energy. The glue that bonds all matter in the Universe is the energy of love and the life-force energy that supports all living matter. Without love, matter decays and spiritual laws are violated.
Humans are here to learn how to hold a place for light in the face of darkness. If the view of the world becomes disheartening to a level of imbalance, the heart does not have the energy to heal and uplift. To love and serve requires remembrance. Always remember who you are and why you came here to allow the spirit of the wolf to lead into ascension, connection to divinity, and experiential growth during this remarkable incarnation.
Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
